Annual Breast and Pelvic Exams

The annual exam includes a routine breast and pelvic exam, STD screening if indicated, and pap smear with HPV testing depending on your age and pap smear history. Nutrition, exercise, and family planning are also discussed during the annual exam.

Pap smear management

For patients with abnormal pap smears colposcopy with cervical biopsies are performed in the office for further diagnosis. LEEP (Loop Electrical Excision Procedure) can be performed in the office with local anesthesia for those patients who need excision treatment. HPV counseling, prevention, and management will be discussed extensively for those with abnormal pap smears.

Mammogram

Mammogram screening guidelines will be discussed at your visit and may be individualized based on certain risk factors such as family history and personal history.

STD Screening

Screening guidelines will be discussed during the annual exam. Gonorrhea, chlamydia, and HIV are some of the tests that may be offered. STD prevention will also be discussed.

Family Planning

Family planning can be discussed in detail during any visit.
